Ulteriori informazioni

This book presents a unique introduction into the field of bioinorganic chemistry through practical laboratory experiments. Topics include many aspects of modern bioinorganic chemistry such as model systems for metalloenzymes, biosensors, metal bioconjugates and metal-based drugs. Each chapter contains a brief introduction, followed by detailed experimental procedures, completed with all necessary background information for the student as well as their instructors.

  • A valuable supplement to standard textbooks of inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry
  • Essential for all instructors teaching laboratory courses in general and inorganic chemistry

Info autore

Nils Metzler-Nolte studied chemistry in Hamburg, Freiburg and Munich, Germany. In 1994 he received his PhD for his work on synthesis, reactivity and electronic structure of alkynylboranes. After his postdoc in the laboratory of professor Green at the University of Oxford, Metzler-Nolte went to the well known Max-Planck-Institute for Bioinorganic Chemistry where he became leader of the group for bio-organometallic chemistry. Since 2000 he is professor for bioinorganic chemistry and medicinal inorganic chemistry and vice dean at the University of Heidelberg. His research is aimed at linking organometallic compounds to amino acids, small peptides and DNA analogs, namely PNAs.

Relazione

"This delightful book breaks new ground as it is the first lab manual devoted entirely to experiments in bioinorganic chemistry."
Richard S. Herrick in: Journal of Chemical Education 2010
"Ein sehr gutes Buch."
Siegfried Schindler in: Nachrichten aus der Chemie 5/2010
"Insgesamt ist das Buch sehr empfehlenswert für Lehrende und Lernende der bioanorganischen Chemie, wenn man das Thema nicht nur in einer Vorlesung oder einem Seminar erschöpfen will, sondern auch praktisch lehren und lernen möchte."
Axel Klein in: Angewandte Chemie 122/2010
