His work continues to make an essential contribution to Deleuze scholarship as it aims to carefully distinguish his notion of the event from the phenomenological, ontological, and voluntarist conceptions that continue to lay claim to the concept today. This edition makes available in a single volume two of Zourabichvili's most important writings on the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. A Philosophy of the Event (1994) is an exposition of Deleuze's philosophy as a whole, while the later and complementary, Vocabulary of Deleuze (2003) approaches Deleuze's work through an analysis of key concepts in a dictionary form. With an introduction by Gregg Lambert and Daniel W. Smith, two of the world's leading commentators on Deleuze, introducing the key themes and arguments of Zourabichvili's work, this translation is set to become an event within Deleuze Studies for many years to come. Gregg Lambert is Dean's Professor of Humanities at Syracuse University, New York. Daniel W. Smith is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Purdue University. Kieran Aarons is a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada fellow. Zusammenfassung This edition makes new translations of two of Zourabichvili's most important writings on the philosophy of Deleuze available in one volume. One is an exposition of Deleuze's philosophy as a whole, and the other approaches his work through an analysis of his key concepts in dictionary form....
