Informationen zum Autor Stephen Deas was born in 1968. He once set fire to Wales. Well one bit of Wales. Twice. When not burning principalities, he played too much D&D. Despite this he managed to study theoretical physics at Cambridge, get a job at BAE, marry and have two children. He has written several novels in the fantasy, YA and crime genres. With Gavin Smith he co-writes SF novels, including a tie-in for the Elite Dangerous game. He lives in Essex with his family. Klappentext There will be flames. Once dragons ruled the world and humans were little more than prey; then a way of subduing the dragons was discovered. Now the dragons are bred to be little more than mounts for knights and highly valued tokens for the competing aristocratic houses. The Empire has grown fat. And now one man wants it for himself. A man who has killed his own father and is prepared to kill the king. However flames are on the way. A single dragon has gone missing. And even one dragon on the loose, restored to its full intelligence and fury, could spell disaster for the Empire. But that is not all. The rivals for the throne could soon be facing hundreds of dragons . . . 'His dragons are inscrutable, beautiful, magical, unstoppable' Brent Weeks 'Dragons restored to all their scaly, fire-breathing glory' Daily Telegraph www.stephendeas.com www.gollancz.co.uk [covers for The King of the Crags and The Order of the Scales ] Zusammenfassung Praised by Joe Abercrombie and Brent Weeks alike - the dragon fantasy that heralded the arrival of an exciting new talent on the fantasy scene.
