Cet ouvrage est imaginé, au-delà du catalogue ou du livre d'artiste, comme un projet hybride, ensemble de documents à partir du travail sonore de l'artiste Dominique Petitgand. Il est constitué d'une large sélection de pièces sonores que l'artiste a transcrites, structuré autour de deux entretiens, et complété par des "notes d'écoute", contributions d'artistes et de critiques.
Un ensemble éclaté et raisonné de différentes approches textuelles expérimentales autour de ce travail singulier aux frontières de la musique, du cinéma et des arts plastiques, que développe Dominique Petitgand depuis 1992.
Il s'agit ici de déplier le travail d'un artiste, interroger ses possibles modes de représentation, de documentation et de transcription.
Cette publication, conçue par l'artiste avec Les Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers, matérialise la résidence de Dominique Petitgand dans ce lieu.

Rather than a catalogue or artist's book, this publication is conceived as a hybrid project, a collection of documents relating to the sound pieces made by artist Dominique Petitgand since 1992. It comprises a broad selection of these works, as transcribed by the artist, structured around two interviews, together with "listener's notes" by critics and other artists.
This book offers a diverse but balanced set of experimental textual approaches to this singular art of sound that stands on the frontiers of music, cinema and the visual arts.
Its aim is to open up this body of work and to examine the different ways in which it can be represented, documented and transcribed.
Conceived by the artist with Les Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers this publication materializes the residence of Dominique Petitgand there.
