Lavie Tidhar ist ein israelischer Science-Fiction-Schriftsteller. Er wuchs in einem Kibbuz auf, reiste später durch Südafrika, Großbritannien, Asien und die Südsee und lebt heute in Laos. Für seine Erzählungen gewann er zahlreiche Preise.
