The book examines exhaustively the position of women in Fishery sector in India over time and their contribution in terms of labour and productivity to the family and economy, the constraints they face and their options in the changing situation today. Women in this critical sector have to come center stage in policy and be strengthened to play their role as equal partners. For this, the woman farmer must receive rights to land, receive inputs of technology, skill, information, market access and credit. Her enormous workload must be lightened. The book serves as an important document and stimulates further discussions and development of appropriate programs in India. Il a obtenu un B F Sc et un M F Sc de WBUAFS et un Ph D de Visva Bharati, PGDRD de IGNOU, PGDAEM de MANAGE. Il a publié 10 livres, 13 chapitres de livres et 28 articles de recherche. Il a été récompensé par le Best Scientist Award et d'autres prix.
