Ulteriori informazioni

Informationen zum Autor Elizabeth Barnett is a Research Fellow at the Open University Business School, with a doctorate in social policy from the University of Bath. Her publications include the opening chapter of the Centre for Policy on Ageing's State of the Art in Dementia Care. From a background in health service management, she went on to train a wide range of care professionals across the UK in person-centred approaches to care and Dementia Care Mapping. Klappentext The views of older people with dementia need to be applied to the design, management, evaluation and implementation of the services that support them. Looking at the roles of those who decide on how, what, where and when care is given, as well as those who deliver care, this book addresses three fundamental questions:* Why should we access the perspective of older people with dementia?* How should we attempt to achieve this?* What are the implications when we do so?The way in which society supports older people is gaining increasing public and media attention, as is the accountability of the care services to their clients. Including the Person with Dementia in Designing and Delivering Care shows how we can adapt everyday interpretive skills to root service design and care delivery in the concerns and expectations of people with dementia. This book will be an invaluable resource for all those involved in the planning and provision of support services for older people with dementia.
