About the author

Josh Jackson is a leading voice for public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, garnering an engaged following on his Instagram account @forgottenlandsproject, where he shares stories and photographs from California's least understood, least protected, and largely unknown landscapes. His advocacy work has been featured by the Los Angeles Times, SFGate, and the Nature’s Archive podcast. In addition to his roles as a storyteller and conservationist, Jackson leads Arbor Exchange, a furniture design and build studio he founded in 2010. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three children. The Enduring Wild: A Journey into California's Public Lands is his first book.
