  If one album should have given Mr. Newman the big breakthrough in "pop" it should have been this one. References from Dire-Straits (Money that matters) to Springsteen (Something special is "racing in the streets!) are abundant and then again: It's just a wonderful musician. - Well I guess Mr. Newman took to heart a Bill Withers quote: "Before I wanna make love to your body I wanna make love to your mind) - Mr. Newman always remains at the former. (And I love it!) cause his kind of soul is "spartan"

  Für mich die beste von Randy Newman und überhaupt eine meiner Lieblingsplatten!
  Nur schon "Dixie Flyer" mit Mark Knopfler ist der Hammer!!

  lässt ein wenig die frische der frühen newman scheiben vermissen. zu glatt um für mich ein meilenstein zu sein.

  mit dieser platte habe ich zu randy newman gefunden. seine texte sind absolut brilliant und zur musik gibt es eigentlich nur soviel zu sagen das die halbe LA studiomusik prominez dabei ist, dass spricht für eigentlich für sich.
