Anni dopo la sua esecuzione sulla sedia elettrica, avvenuta alla fine degli anni Trenta, l`assassino e violentatore Caleb Croft risorge dalla tomba e assale la giovane Leslie. La ragazza rimane incinta e finisce per dare alla luce un maschio: una volta cresciuto, James Eastman si dedica alla missione di rintracciare e uccidere il diabolico genitore. Il film è tratto dal romanzo Still Life di David Chase (nato David DeCesare nel 1945), oggi particolarmente noto per essere l`autore dell`acclamata serie Tv I Soprano.
