Raku Ichijo è figlio di uno dei capi del clan Yakuza, ma fa di tutto per vivere come un normale studente di liceo. La sua routine si trasforma in un incubo quando nella sua classe arriva una nuova compagna: Chitoge Kirisaki, una ragazza attaccabrighe e figlia del capo di un clan avversario. Per evitare una guerra tra clan, i due liceali, così opposti tra loro, dovranno fingere di essere una coppia… anche se in realtà non si sopportano.
