THE MAN FROM NOWHERE -ULTRA HD - Ex-special agent Cha Tae-shik's only connection to the world is So-mi, the little girl who lives next door. When her mother steals from a drug trafficking organization, they kidnap her and her daughter. Tae-shik is suddenly drawn back into his old life in a frantic search to save his friend, but now has both the police and underground crime mob on his trail. While she is still nowhere to be found, he continues his search, but his hidden past is slowly revealed.

An ex-special agent CHA Tae-shik's (Won Bin) only connection to the world is a little girl, So-mi (Kim Sae-Ron), who lives next door. Her mother, Hyo-jeong, smuggles drugs from a drug trafficking organization and entrusts Tae-shik with the product, without letting him know. The traffickers eventually find out about her smuggling and kidnap both Hyo-jeong and So-mi. Tae-shik is now drawn back into the world in a frantic search for So-mi's whereabouts. In order to save So-mi, he makes an arrangement with the crime mob. While So-mi is still nowhere to be found, the police begin to chase after Tae-shik. With the police and the underground mob on his trail, Tae-shik continues his frantic search for So-mi while his hidden past slowly becomes revealed . . .

    Scheint inspiriert von "Taken" und "Léon", kommt aber an beide nicht ganz ran und auch nicht an die grossen Kracher des Koreanischen Kinos aus letzter Zeit. Ich denke an "The Chaser" oder "Oldboy". Trotzdem ein gelungener Actionfilm, auch wenn das Drehbuch zum Teil schwächelt.

    Hier passt einfach alles: leise, dramatisch, spannend und blutig zugleich.

    Da hat sich jemand mit dem Falschen angelegt! Won Bin kickz Azz! Toller Film! Sehr kurzweilig. Typisch koreanisch: brutal und emotional.
