Vor vielen Jahren ging ein Army-Experiment schrecklich schief, nun kontaminiert ein abhanden gekommenes Fass mit grünem toxischen Abfall das Softeis eines Imbiss' in einer amerikanischen Provinzstadt. Die Mischung schmeckt gut, befinden die vier Freunde Tim, Mike, Cindy und Vanessa und wundern sich doch sehr, dass nach einem heftigen Krampf die ganze Welt recht seltsam aussieht. Menschen flüchten in Panik vor ihnen und erst ein Möchtegern-Soldat klärt sie auf: Sie sind zu Zombies mutiert.
