international star asia argento portrays anna manni, a beautiful police detective in pursuit of a savage serial killer-rapist that has been terrorizing central italy. when his trail leads anna to florence's famed uffizi museum, the investigation takes a violently psychotic turn. anna is struck by the bizarre phenomenon known as the stendhal syndrome, a psychological reaction to artwork that makes the viewer fall unconscious; and in anna's case, vulnerable to the terror she is tracking. for her, the artwork begins to come to life. it terrorizes and brutalizes her as she tries to hunt down the depraved slasher.
as she gets closer to the vicious killer, her strange affliction transports her into nightmares of carnage. her prey has now become her predator. anna must destroy the killer before she is destroyed by the stendhal syndrome.

die DVD hat keine englische untertitteln. das bild ist digital gemastered aber es ist nicht all zu viel zu erwarten. der originalton fehlt!! der film selbst ist super, wenn auch nicht für jeden geschmack. am besten man ist ein asia argento fan wie ich dann kann einem der film nur gefallen.

Je ne comprend vraiment pas pourquoi la critique a à ce point descendu en flèche ce film à sa sortie, alors qu'il constitue, à mes yeux, un sommet de l'oeuvre si particulière d'Argento de même qu'une superbe réflexion sur l'Art.
Etonnant, original, dérangeant (sans être pour autant le plus violent de son auteur), le film touchera surtout ceux et celles qui, sans atteindre au fameux syndrome stendhalien, ont connu de très fortes émotions, voire de passagères obsessions, pour des oeuvres d'art - qu'il s'agisse d'une peinture, d'une musique, d'un livre ou d'un film.
Un sommet de Dario Argento, le meilleur pour moi après Suspiria et Profondo Rosso.

der film macht spass, ist aber einer der schlechteren von argento. gut gespielt und szene gesetz. kann man weiterempfehlen man sollte aber kein großes machwerk erwarten.

Dies ist wohl die beste DVD weltweit.

Besseres Cover und eine viel bessere Qualität als die Troma, die geschnittene UK oder die holländische DVD.

Zudem: Es gibt zwei Filmversionen auf der DVD!!! Eine hat den englischen Ton, die andere nur englische Untertitel.

Super Qualität, super Film.
