Identification and Quantitation of Dna Adducts Derived From Dbps - Project 90968f

English · Paperback / Softback

Description

Several DBPs have been shown to be carcinogenic in experimental animals. Likewise, epidemiology studies have suggested increased risks of cancer associated with drinking chlorinated drinking water. The long-term objective of this research is to better understand the health risks associated with DBPs. The research demonstrated that several carcinogenic DBPs do not form direct DNA adducts and do not enhance endogenous adducts. Thus, they are not similar to well known genotoxic carcinogens. This may have important implications for risk assessment.
