Terry L. Brensinger explains the ups and downs of the Israelites during the period of the Judges. By tracing developments under each judge, he shows how Israels condition deteriorates to near-total chaos. The book of Judges begins with depictions of Israels obedience and faithfulness but ends with disunited and leaderless tribes. The people tend to take their focus away from serving the Lord. Terry L. Brensinger serves as professor of biblical studies and chair of Biblical Studies, Religion, and Philosophy Department at Messiah College, Grantham, Pennsylvania. Brensinger received his B.A. from Messiah College, an M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary, an M.A. in Near Eastern Archaeology from Drew University, and his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Old Testament studies, also from Drew University.
