About the author
Andreas Bresinsky, geb. 1935 in Reval, studierte Biologie, Chemie und Bodenkunde in München. 1973 wurde er auf einen Lehrstuhl der Botanik an der Univ. Regensburg berufen. Dort übernahm er Aufbau und Leitung des Botanischen Gartens. Seit 2000 ist er Professor emeritus und Ehrenvorsitzender der Regensburgischen Botanischen Gesellschaft.
Christian Körner was born in 1949 in Salzburg, Austria, got his academic degrees from the University of Innsbruck, and became professor of botany at the University of Basel, Switzerland in 1989. He published over 300 scientific articles on plant-environment interactions and authored and coauthored numerous scientific books, including the leading plant science textbook Strasburger.
Joachim W. Kadereit, geb. 1956 in Hannover, studierte Biologie in Hamburg und Cambridge/DK. 1991 wurde er auf einen Lehrstuhl für Botanik an der Universität Mainz berufen. Dort übernahm er die Leitung des Botanischen Gartens.
