Summary
This book is an introduction to important themes in Tibetan Buddhism. It does not require any prior knowledge about Buddhism as the early chapters discuss aspects of general Buddhism which are taken up and may be elaborated or reinterpreted in Tibetan Buddhism. Nevertheless, recent scholarship and contemporary academic concerns in Buddhist Studies, general Religious Studies, Tibetan Studies and in Social Anthropology and Sociology are taken into consideration.
With universities and colleges offering wider ranges of courses and/or expanding existing courses on Religion, Tibetan Buddhism will be an invaluable resource to help understand this subject. Chapters build on earlier chapters, and each chapter covers essential information presented in an accessible way.
