Budô is the path of the Japanese traditional martial arts. Mabuni Kenei has followed this path for almost eight decades until now. The son and heir of Mabuni Kenwa the founder of Shitô-ryû has acquired a deep understanding of the essence of Karate as a budô art during his course of life. About the author
Kenei Mabuni, Träger des 10. Dan, wurde 1918 auf Okinawa, dem Ursprungsort des Karatedo, geboren. Als Sohn eines der bedeutendsten Karateexperten in der Geschichte der Kampfkünste kam er von Kindheit an mit dem Karate und einigen seiner größten Meister in Berührung. Im Alter von 34 Jahren übernahm er den Vorsitz des Shito ryu. Noch heute, im hohen Alter, hält er regelmäßig Lehrgänge in verschiedenen Teilen der Welt, in denen er authentisches Karatedo vermittelt.
