In this book, seismic response and characteristics of an isolated and non-isolated building are studied using the finite element method by SAP2000. An elaborate investigation of the influence of various parameters involved in isolation is performed. In this study of isolator, types, characteristics and installation techniques in the column of building are considered and the design of rubber bearing isolator for a multi storied residential building located in Dhaka is performed.
