Since the beginning of the nineteen eighties, Andres Serrano has addressed the contemporary world's most controversial issues in his images. El dedo en la llaga offers works from the first retrospective held in Spain on his oeuvre. Body fluids, exclusion, fanaticism, religion, illness and death are present in this book. The forcefulness of his images is supported by advertising mechanisms both in lighting and particularly in his use of brief, eloquent language.
