Indra Wussow, studierte Literaturwissenschaft, lebt in Johannesburg/Südafrika und auf Sylt. Sie arbeitet als Autorin, literarische Übersetzerin und Kuratorin für verschiedene internationale Einrichtungen. 2002 gründete sie auf Sylt die von ihr geleitete Stiftung kunst:raum sylt quelle. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit liegt im Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft und Kunst. 2008 eröffnete die Stiftung eine Dependance in Johannesburg, das Jozi art:lab.
