BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) is the new standard for business process modeling. Within a short period, it has gained widespread adoption in practice. All important modeling tools support BPMN diagramming. About the author
Thomas Allweyer verfügt über umfassende Erfahrung in den Bereichen Geschäftsprozessmanagement, betriebliche Informationssysteme und Software-Entwicklung, u.a. als Manager und Berater bei IDS Scheer und als Prozessmanager bei einer Beschaffungsplattform von Deutscher Bank und SAP. Seine Berufserfahrung umfasst eine Reihe von nationalen und internationalen Projekten, u. a. zwei EU-Forschungsprojekte zum Prozessmanagement in der chemischen Industrie und in der Bauindustrie. Er promovierte an der Universität des Saarlandes bei Professor Scheer zum Thema 'adaptive Geschäftsprozesse'. Er ist Professor für Unternehmensmodellierung und Geschäftsprozessmanagement am Fachbereich Informatik der Fachhochschule Kaiserslautern, Standort Zweibrücken. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt ist geschäftsprozessorientiertes Software Engineering. Außerdem arbeitet er als Unternehmensberater und ist Mitglied im Aufsichtsrat der HRW Consulting Factory AG in Saarbrücken.
