Informationen zum Autor Mark L. Knapp is the Jesse H. Jones Centennial Professor Emeritus of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin. He is internationally known for his work in nonverbal communication and has received several teaching awards. He is the author of Nonverbal Communication in Human Interaction, Interpersonal Communication and Human Relationships, Lying and Deception in Human Interaction, and has co-edited the Handbook of Interpersonal Communication. He is a former editor of Human Communication Research and a past president of both ICA and NCA. He is an ICA Fellow and an NCA Distinguished Scholar. John A. Daly is the Liddell Centennial Professor of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin. He has published more than one hundred articles and chapters in scholarly publications, and completed six books. His interests focus on practical ways of improving the communication skills of individuals. Thus, he has examined topics such as shyness, personality difference in communication, communication difficulties people experience in their personal and professional relationships, and ways people advocate for their ideas. He has served as editor of Communication Education and co-editor of Written Communication, as well as a member of the editorial boards of ten different academic journals. In recent years, he has worked with the White House on issues related to customer service and communication. He was named a Fellow of the International Communication Association in recognition of his scholarly work.
