Mechanics of Natural Solids

This book presents the lectures of the Symposium on Mechanics of Natural Solids, hold from 7th to 9th September 2009 in Horto, Greece. It delivers a paradigm for the interconnection of the mechanics of soil, rock, ice and snow and also for the interdisciplinary character of the related research. About the author

Professor Dimitrios Kolymbas studierte Bauingenieurwesen an der Universität Karlsruhe, wo er am Institut für Boden- und Felsmechanik promovierte und sich habilitierte. Seit 1994 ist er Professor für Geotechnik und Tunnelbau an der Universität Innsbruck.
