Michael Wagner is Professor for Technology Enhanced Learning and Multimedia at the Department for Interactive Media and Educational Technology at Danube University Krems. His current research interest is digital youth culture and its influences on teaching and learning, both formally and informally. More specifically, he is working in the fields of competitive and power gaming as well as educational gaming and computer game literacy.

About the author

Professor Dr.-Ing. h. c. mult. Michael Heinrich Wagner, Jahrgang 1959, studierte Maschinenbau und Prozessautomatisierung/Kybernetik an der TU Magdeburg. Er promovierte 1987 und ist seit 1998 an die FH Erfurt berufen. Dort hat er den Lehrstuhl für Materialflusssysteme und Mechatronik inne und beschäftigt sich intensiv mit Fragen des Gewerblichen Rechtsschutzes. Zuvor war er bei Unternehmen der Automobilzulieferindustrie (Sachs Mannesmann AG und INA Schaeffler KG) in leitenden Positionen der Entwicklung und Produktion tätig. Er hält selbst mehr als 25 Patente. Im Rahmen diverser beruflicher Einsätze lebte er mehrere Jahre in Asien, gründete das Beratungsunternehmen mhw-CoPE und berät heute u.a. auf dem Gebiet Patentrecht klein- und mittelständische Unternehmen.
