Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Politik - Sonstige Themen, Note: 1,1, Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) (Juniorprofessur für Interkulturelle Kommunikation), Veranstaltung: Performanz und Praxis im interkulturellen Kontakt, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als Forschungsgegenstand sprach- und kulturwissenschaftlicher Analysen hat "Interkulturelle Kompetenz" in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten als ein avanciertes Forschungsthema an nicht zu unterschätzender Bedeutung gewonnen und erfreut sich gegenwärtig innerhalb zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher Disziplinen großer Popularität. Die vorliegende Arbeit soll die Rolle von interkultureller Kompetenz in der deutschen Kulturpolitik beleuchten und damit eine stärkere Beachtung interkultureller Forschung in der Kulturpolitik bewirken. Dabei soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, wie aus politischer Sicht die Rahmenbedingungen für die nachhaltige Entwicklung von interkultureller Kompetenz geschaffen werden können. Es steht die Frage im Zentrum, inwiefern sich Leitbegriffe aus den schwierigen Interkulturalitätsdebatten in der bundesdeutschen Kulturpolitik wiederfinden und besonders mit welchen Zielen Schlagwörter, wie beispielsweise "Horizonterweiterung" und "Schutz kultureller Identität" verwendet werden.
Cultural Policy presents a recent and relevant field within the scope of globalization. In Germany there is the tendency to deal with more and more people with different cultural and religious backgrounds because foreign infiltrations through an invading culture impose foreign traditions and languages on the majority culture but also the other way around.This paper discusses the role of intercultural communication in cultural policy on a federal level in Germany. It tries to figure out in which way cultural policy is able to initiate a legal framework for intercultural education in order to perpetuate intercultural competence in German society. The first part provides basic concepts in order to link this topic with current theories of culture,identity and philosophy with regard to an intercultural context.The second part analyses the role of intercultural communication in the context of domestic and foreign cultural policy.In conclusion, political measures to initiate a process of promoting intercultural competence within the German society should be enforced. The concept of an intercultural dialog can be regarded as an appropriate concept in a society that is characterized by diversity.However, the real importance of developing intercultural competence on both a national and regional scale has not been fully acknowledged yet.
