About the author
After being awarded his MSc in 1999 Leonardo Silva Santos joined the Universidade Estadual de Campinas in Brasil for his thesis working on the total synthesis of natural products, while also doing research for two years at the University of Chicago in 2001-2002. After beind awarded his Ph.D. in 2003 he did postdoctoral research at UNICAMP, Brasil, and at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg. He is currently Professor at the Universidad de Talca, Chile.
