Informationen zum Autor Edwin J. Perkins is emeritus professor of history at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He received his doctoral degree from Johns Hopkins University in the complementary fields of economic and business history, with a special emphasis on U.S. financial history. Among his book publications are Financing Anglo-American Trade: The House of Brown, 1800-1880, American Public Finance and Financial Services, 1700-1815, and Wall Street to Main Street: Charles Merrill and Middle Class Investors.
