Informationen zum Autor Glenn Dedmondt spent much of his life in the United States Marine Corps. He has served in Vietnam; Okinawa; Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; and Parris Island, among others. He received his bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Southern Missionary College (now Southern Adventist University) in Collegedale, Tennessee. He is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and shared his passion for history as a teacher of history in South Carolina before retiring to Missouri. Dedmondt has given several speeches to the Sons of Confederate Veterans organization, discussing such topics as the Carolinas' coastal forts, songs of the South, and South Carolina artillery in the War Between the States. He has been published in the Confederate Veteran magazine and is the author of Southern Bronze, the history of South Carolina's Garden Battery. He has two grown sons and is interested in acoustic guitar and playing classical, folk, and classic country music. Dedmondt lives on a quiet farm with his wife, a couple of dogs, and a dozen chickens in Doniphan, Missouri. Klappentext Flags stir the most noble emotions within the human heart.
