Rak Badjalarr presents the wangga songs of Bobby Lane (1941-1993), a Wadjiginy songman from Belyuen on the Cox Peninsula south and west of Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia. The recording takes its name from Bobby's song, "Rak Badjalarr," which is also the name of the place known in English as North Peron Island. Rak Badjalarr lies to the southwest of Belyuen off the coast of Anson Bay, within the traditional homelands of the Wadjiginy and Kiyuk peoples. This place continues to have deep spiritual significance for Belyuen people.
