About the author

John B. Keane is an Irish literary legend and the country's favourite Kerryman. For most of his life he has lived in Listowel, County Kerry, where he presides over one of the liveliest and most literary pubs in the country. The author of novels, stories and poetry as well as much occasional prose, he is regarded as one of the leading modern Irish dramatists. Plays such as Sive and The Field are repeatedly revived in both professional and amateur productions, and The Field has been successfully filmed.
