Report

The book is full of interesting nuggets of information and many refreshing insights. It contains a wealth of key references from within and outside the subject: I cuold think of no better introductory text for undergraduate and postgraduate students of ecotoxicology wishing to learn about the real issues being debated within the field - SETAC; This volume packs much information into its relatively short length - American Zoology; This is an excellent book which the reader will find informative, thought-provoking and controversial. It is clearly written, with well-chosen examples and includes a comprehensive biography. The authors are to be congratulated on making a significant contribution to our understanding of ecotoxicological concepts and perhaps more importantly on highlighting their limitations - Biol.J.Linn.Soc; ... this book...provides a much needed presentation of the field of ecotoxicology which can not only be used as a textbook in the training of potential ecotoxicologists but also ought to be required reading for environmental administrators. Ecotoxicology in Theory and Practice is easy and enjoyable reading. It is clearly written, and its first-person style combined with many examples and anecdotes drawn from recent history make it unique in the genre of textbooks - ICES Newsletter
