About the author
Michael Hall is a Professor in the Department of Tourism, University of Otago, New Zealand and Honorary Professor, University of Stirling, Scotland. He has written widely on tourism, regional development and mobility issues as well as environmental history, particularly with respect to peripheral areas. James Higham is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Tourism, University of Otago, New Zealand. Dr. Higham teaches courses in tourism impacts and evaluation, ecotourism operations and wilderness and marine tourism. His research interests relating to tourism and the environment centre on wilderness management, wildlife tourism and ecotourism business operations.
