Informationen zum Autor Pat Feldsien is a writer/editor. She has a master's degree in Early English from The University of Chicago and a master's degree in spirituality from Holy Names College, Oakland, CA. She lived by herself in a remote cabin on the Continental Divide between Idaho and Montana for many years, gaining an intimate knowledge of the landscape and its spirit. She participated in John Kirsch's hiking retreats for more than twenty years, and helped him institute the Living Water Contemplative Center. She is now retired and lives in Arizona, discovering the spirit of the desert. Father John B. Kirsch was born in Buffalo, NY, and discovered the West when he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s-and Montana when he served in the military during World War II. He moved to the Intermountain West after the war, working as a ranch hand and railroad laborer. He purchased his own ranch near Bozeman, MT, in 1950 and was forced to sell it five years later. He earned a master's degree in wildlife biology from the state university in Bozeman and worked for the Montana Fish and Game Department until becoming a priest in the 1960s. After age 70, Father Kirsch continued his retreat work from the church in West Yellowstone until ill health forced his complete retirement from church ministry. He moved to Sheridan, MT, and conducted hiking retreats from his home until his death in May 2002. He is buried in Nevada City, MT, where his grave is visited by many. Klappentext This book offers a "how to" for readers looking for a deeper connection to the Earth and the natural world, with description of nature retreats and meditations.
