In this book, the well-known Bochum theologian Günter Thomas reveals the theological-political foundations and moral course-setting of this hybrid anti-Semitism from a critical Christian-theological perspective. Thomas offers observations on the war of images, analyses the postcolonial discourse on Israel, and looks at the formula of double solidarity. He recalls central discoveries of Protestant Israel theology and sheds light on its transformations. Günter Thomas, Dr. theol., Dr. rer.soc., Jahrgang 1960, studierte Evangelische Theologie, Philosophie und Soziologie in Tübingen, Princeton (USA) und Heidelberg. Er ist Professor für Systematische Theologie an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Research Associate in Systematischer Theologie an der Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Stellenbosch / Südafrika und Co-Principal Investigator des internationalen Projektes 'Enhancing Life'.
