High Performance Computing (HPC) continues to play a pivotal role in numerical simulation, modeling, and data-driven discovery across computational science, academic research, and industry. At the same time, effectively harnessing the capabilities of large-scale parallel systems has grown increasingly complex. Over the past decade, a wide range of tools for parallel program development, debugging, and performance analysis have emerged within the HPC community. The tools themselves face various challenges around the heterogeneity of software stacks and hardware across diverse target platforms, as well as the rise of new parallel programming models. Over time, they have evolved to provide experts with deep insights into applications while also supporting end users through intuitive interfaces. Within the workshop, both perspectives are represented—contributions from tool developers alongside insights from daily user experience.
This volume presents the proceedings of the 14th International Parallel Tools Workshop, held in Stuttgart, Germany, October 5-6, 2023—a dedicated forum for discussing state-of-the-art advances in parallel tools.
