With world-leading industrial strength, China has achieved remarkable results in the information industry and digital infrastructure, becoming a global leader in digital transformation. In February 2023, it released the "Overall Layout Plan for Digital China Construction", aiming to be a world leader in digital development by 2035. Unlike other countries perspectives, China s digitalization includes not only traditional ICT industries (called digital industrialization) but also the digital upgrading of traditional industries (industrial digitalization) and improved public services via digital technologies (digital or smart society). This book aims to provide readers with a comprehensive overview of Digital China. It consists of three parts, totaling eight chapters. The first part is introductory, covering the overview of the ICT industry, the planning and scope of Digital China, and China's innovation system. The second part, the focus of the book, comprehensively introduces the development of China's digital industrialization, industrial digitalization, and the digital society in the early stage of the 14th Five-Year Plan. The third part presents China's achievements and progress in cyberspace governance and international digital cooperation.

About the author
Wei Liu is a professor at the School of Electronic Information and Communication, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), which is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. He also serves as the Director of the HUST International Education Base of Engineering and the Vice Director of the Key Laboratory of Internet of Intelligence of Hubei Province. He has obtained two first-class awards for outstanding teaching achievements of Hubei Province. His research interests include Smart Internet Applications, Smart Education, etc. He has completed more than ten major projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Research and Development Program. Prof. Liu has published more than 100 journal and conference papers and obtained more than 20 invention patents.
