About the author

Chitra Soundar grew up in Chennai, India. An award-winning author of more than 40 books for children, she loves writing picture books, fiction, non-fiction and verse. Chitra travels the world visiting schools and appearing at festivals to bring Indian stories to children everywhere. Chitra is the holder of two prestigious Junior Library Guild gold medals in the US. www.chitrasoundar.comSophie Bass draws inspiration from her mixed British and Trinidadian heritage and from music, social justice, mythology and symbolism. She works by hand employing traditional techniques with gouache and pen to create contemporary images characterized by strong figures, vivid colours and a distinctive style.
