About the author

Abdelhamid H. Elgazzar
, MD, FCAP, is a Visiting Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at National Cancer Institute, Cairo University. He graduated in 1973 from the School of Medicine, University of Cairo, Egypt and trained in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Pathology (Anatomic and Clinical) and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Elgazzar is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists. He has served as an Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, as Chief of Nuclear Medicine at Tufts-New England Medical Center, Boston, MA. and professor and chairman, department of Nuclear Medicine, Kuwait University. He has received awards from several international professional organizations. Dr. Elgazzar has edited or authored 15 books and over 150 peer-reviewed papers. He serves as a reviewer for various peer-reviewed medical journals worldwide.

Saud Alenezi, MB
, ChB, FRCPC, ABNM, is an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Kuwait University. He graduated in 2005 from the Faculty of Medicine, Kuwait University and trained in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He is board certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. Dr. Alenezi acts as a reviewer for multiple journals. He has edited or authored multiple books and peer-reviewed papers.

Khalid M Taalab
, MSc, MD a professor of Nuclear Medicine, Military Medical Academy, Egypt.   Graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University in 1987. Obtained Diploma of Internal Medicine; Zaggazig University, Egypt in 1993, IAEA Research Fellowship; London University; UK in 1995and MD degree in Nuclear Medicine from Cairo University in 1997. He was trained on PET imaging at BWZKH; Koblenz, Germany in 2000-2001, and at St Louis University Hosp-USA in 2006. He has published 58 research manuscripts in peer reviewed journals and is a member of the editorial board of Egyptian Journal of Nuclear Medicine and is considered one of the pioneers in Molecular imaging and theranostics.
