About the author

Neil Boothby is Professor and Director in the Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child at the University of Notre Dame, USA. He is an internationally recognized expert and advocate for children affected by war, displacement, and abject poverty. 
Kate Schuenke-Lucien is Director for Haiti and Senior Associate Director for Strategic Planning in the Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child at the University of Notre Dame, USA. She is an education leader whose work in Haiti has advanced literacy, early childhood development, and community engagement.
