The book is included the history of spreading viruses and focused on the importance of heterocyclic compounds in the biological field then talked about some heterocyclic compounds as antiviral agents as follow: a common nitrogen-containing heterocycles, such as indoles, pyrroles, pyrimidines, pyrazoles, and quinolines, that have been used in drug development for antiviral objectives . A discussion of the biological properties of derivatives of nitrogen-containing heterocycles is provided. Also, we are concerned with the nitrogen-based heterocycling analogues with reported anti-CHIKV activity, such as nitrogen heterocycle-coumarin hybrid compounds, thiazolopyrimidine derivatives, and investigate the potential of these compounds as an intriguing class for the creation of antiviral drugs. Moreover, some details about imidazo-thiazoles and benzothiazole-based berberine derivatives were mentioned. Finally, we reported the antiviral activities of some benzimidazoles, such as semicarbazone-based benzimidazoles and benzimidazol-triazoles.
