Just as sports journalists are very important in the 21st century, so also is the profession of sports journalism. The transformation taking place in the field of sports journalism is made possible by the emergence of digital plenitude. One aspect of the mass media which for long has been regarded as the "toy department" is the area of Sports Reporting or Sports Journalism. This is so because at its infancy, the area of sports journalism was given limited time and space in the news media, but with the advent of Information and Communication Technologies, there is a paradigm shift in the global practice of sports journalism. This book buttresses the development in the nexus between convergence and sports journalism while also pointing out those transformations' taking place in the area of sports journalism made possible by convergence.
