About the author
Chinese Institute of Command and Control (CICC) was founded on September 16, 2012. It is the only national-level academic society in China's command and control science and technology field, formally registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China. As a national sci-tech academic organization and a formal group member of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), it operates under the direct leadership of CAST and holds the qualification to nominate candidates for membership of both the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). In 2018, it received the 4A rating in the national social organization assessment organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China.
As of September 23, 2025, CICC has a council of directors consisting of 146 members and has established 57 branches, including 47 technical committees and 10 working committees. It has a total of 14,000 individual members and 229 institutional members, encompassing almost the entire spectrum of command and control systems science and technology, demonstrating CICC's wide disciplinary coverage and broad membership base.
Through activities such as academic research, domestic and international academic exchanges, science popularization, academic education, sci-tech exhibitions and conferences, academic publications, talent recommendation, academic evaluation, academic consulting, technical reviews and awards, CICC aims to promote the development of command and control science and technology in China. It provides systematic scientific and technological services in command and control to support national economic, social progress, cultural advancement, and security assurance.
CICC strives to align closely with major national strategic needs, guided by the development of the command and control discipline. "China Command and Control Conference" is one of its key initiatives. CICC employs the "CICC Science and Technology Awards" and other recommendation for excellence programs as incentive mechanisms, and uses the "CICC Official Website" "CICC Newsletter," and the "Journal of Command and Control" as vital communication bridges. It continuously strengthens its distinctive characteristics and brand projects, vigorously enhances academic exchange, promotes the integration of industries, academia, research, and application, actively undertakes social responsibilities delegated by the government, and vigorously carries out science popularization.
