About the author
Gongtian Shen is a Professor of China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI). He is also President of the Chinese Society for NDT (ChSNDT), Honorary President of International Society on Acoustic Emission (ISAE), Chairman of Acoustic Emission Testing Committee of International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC135/SC9), President of Chinese Standardization Technical Committee for NDT (SAC/TC56) and President of Chinese Standardization Technical Committee for Ropeway and Amusement Facilities (SAC/TC250). He has for long been engaged in the research of special equipment manufacturing, quality and operational safety detection monitoring, evaluation technology research and instrument system development and engineering applications. As Science and Technology Expert and International Standardization Expert in the field of non-destructive testing and special equipment safety engineering, he has presided over more than 20 national scientific research projects, developed 9 international (ISO) standards and 65 national and industry standards and published 7 monographs and more than 200 academic papers.
Len Gelman, Ph.D., Dr. of Sciences (Habilitation) joined University of Huddersfield as Professor, Chair in Signal Processing/Condition Monitoring and Director of Centre for Efficiency and Performance Engineering, in 2017 from Cranfield University, where he worked as Professor and Chair in vibro-acoustical monitoring since 2002. Len developed novel condition/health monitoring technologies for aircraft engines, gearboxes, bearings, turbines, compressors and composite/concrete materials and structures. He is Fellow of: British Institute of NDT, International Association of Engineers and Institution of Diagnostic Engineers, Executive Director, the International Society for Condition Monitoring, Editor-in-Chief, the International Journal of Engineering Sciences (SCMR), Editor-in-Chief, IAENG International Journal of Computer Science, General Chair, annual International Condition Monitoring Conferences, Honorary Co-Chair, annual World Congresses of Engineering, Co-Chair, the International Congress COMADEM 2019, and Chair, International Scientific Committee of Third World Congress, Condition Monitoring.
Bin Hu is a Professor of China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI). He is also Vice Secretary General of China Society of non-destructive testing, Chairman of condition monitoring professional conference, member of International Acoustic Emission society, member of International Society for Condition Monitoring. Bin Hu has been engaged in theoretical research and engineering application in acoustic, electromagnetic and other non-destructive testing monitoring and intelligent testing for a long time. He has founded one national key R & D plan, one general project of National Natural Science Foundation and more than 10 projects and has guided the research and application of TOFD, magnetic memory, magnetic leakage and other new technologies in China. Bin Hu formulated two ISO standards, more than 30 national/industrial standards, and published more than 40 academic papers and three cooperative monographs.
Junjiao Zhang is a Senior Engineer of China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI). She is also Committee Manager of ISO/TC135/SC9 (Acoustic Emission Testing), Archivist of International Society on Acoustic Emission (ISAE), member of the Chinese Society for NDT (ChSNDT) and member of Chinese Standardization Technical Committee for NDT (SAC/TC56). She has presided over or participated in over 15 national or provincial scientific research projects, won 7 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, developed 7 international (ISO) standards and 20 national and industry standards and published more than 30 academic papers. As the main editor, she has published 4 conference proceedings "Advances in Acoustic Emission Technology" in Springer.
