About the author










Jan Barry is a poet, artist and author of more than a dozen books of poetry and nonfiction. After an Army tour in Vietnam, he resigned from West Point to become a writer and peace activist. A co-founder of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, he served a term as Veterans For Peace Poet Laureate. New Jersey coordinator for Warrior Writers, which provides writing workshops for military veterans and family members, he wrote a guidebook, Waging Art: Tackling Grief and Trauma with Creative Arts.
