"In general, this aim is well accomplished. In many senses, it is an astonishing achievement to bring together such a wide portfolio of scholars working with the culturally geographical field (forty one chapters in total). The diversity of approaches, styles, and themes provided therein illustrates the breadth, depth, and variety of geographies that converge around the nexus of 'culture.'...The editors make it clear that all chapters in the Companion were specially commissioned for this volume, and the quality and substance of the materials offered by the contributors are consistently high. Although some authors also appear in the 2004 version, each chapter is positioned squarely to comment on the state of cultural geography in the second decade of the twenty-first century...It represents a contemporary rearrangement of the 'furniture' of the discipline, moving things and theories around to suit the fashion and the mood of our time.
