The use of the temporary anchorage devices (TADs) or mini-implants as means of absolute anchorage in orthodontics, is probably the most important revolution of the last years, prompting research to design devices always most versatile, effective and easy to use. Over the last years, the Anchorage control with mini-implants has acquired more and more important in the clinical management of orthodontic patients. Different systems of mini-implants have been developed in order to obtain a skeletal anchorage and avoid the use of the most common intra and extraoral orthodontic appliances, usually unwelcome to the patients. This book explains the details about TADs characteristics, selection, insertion techniques and locations, the role of insertion torque and angle in primary stability. Factors affect the success and failure rate and used of TADs in orthodontics and also the used of Mini-Plate in orthodontic treatment.
