About the author

All the while that John Naish has been a science correspondent and investigative features writer for UK national newspapers (35 years and counting), he has also written for the motorcycling press - most notably as columnist for Classic Bike and road-tester for Bikemagazine.
John also enjoyed a stint as motoring editor for The Times newspaper, and since his teens has been busily restoring, maintaining and using a series of old motorcycles and cars. None of his regular rides is less than 50 years old.
A compulsive tinkerer, he lives in the 17th-century Sussex home that he rebuilt from a derelict wreck. Nearby lock-ups harbour numerous vehicles, most constantly prepped for daily use, others someday-to-be-fixed (probably).
John has authored various books for HarperCollins and others, including the bestselling Enough: Breaking Free From The World Of Excess, as well as The Hypochondriac's Handbook, and Put What Where: Over 200 Years Of Bizarre Sex Advice.
