About the author

Álvaro Rocha is an Honorary Professor who holds a Habilitation in Information Science, a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Technologies, an M.Sc. in Information Management, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science. He serves as a Professor at the University of Lisbon (ISEG), a researcher at ADVANCE and CINTESIS, and an Honorary Professor at Amity University. His research focuses on maturity models, management information systems, cybersecurity, e-government, e-health, and information technology in education. Rocha is Vice-Chair of the IEEE Portugal Section's Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Chapter, Editor-in-Chief of the journals WJIS and RISTI, and Scientific Manager of a Springer-Nature book series. He has served as an expert for Horizon Europe, COST, and various international governmental agencies. Rocha is recognized among the world's top scientists in Information Systems by Stanford University, Elsevier, ScholarGPS, and ResearchGate.
Ashok Vaseashta is CEO/CTO and Executive Director with the International Clean Water Institute in Virginia, USA. He serves in several honorary positions, as Professor at the University of Bucharest, Ghitu IEEN, Academy of Sciences of Moldova; Academician of Euro-Mediterranean Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Senior Strategic Research Advisor for several organizations. Inspired by nature and guided by societal necessities, he strives for technological innovations to address the global challenges of the 21st century. He received a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 1990, followed by Kobe’s post-doctoral fellowship. He served as a professor at Virginia Tech and Marshall University and continues to hold positions in universities in Romania. He served the Department of State as a strategic advisor in two rotations. His research interests include nanotechnology, micronano plastics, and critical infrastructure safety/security. He published 23 books and over 350 articles and serves on the editorial boards of several journals.
Carlos Hernan Fajardo-Toro holds a Phd in Computer Science, with training in administration and management of supply chains and logistics. He has experience as a research teacher and consultant in Colombia and Spain, teaching in quantitative, financial, operations and information systems areas, and researching in adaptive predictive models, expert systems, and data science, implementation of information systems and digitization and Industry 4.0. He has also experience as a consultant in information system design, analysis and redefinition of processes, and analysis of logistics and operational systems.
José María Riola is Spanish, Navy Officer and PhD Naval Architect from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. In addition, he has a degree in Psychology from the UNED University and Manager of international R&D programs from CDTI-SOST Brussels, Belgium. From his curriculum, it is worth highlighting the construction of various warships such as the Juan Carlos I aircraft carrier or the series of F-110 frigates, his work at the El Pardo Hydrodynamic Model Basin and as Director of the Technology Watch System in the Ministry of Defense. He has combined his work as an engineer with teaching at the Polytechnic University of Madrid for more than 25 years. He has numerous publications related to hydrodynamics, the environment, shipbuilding and R&D program management. He has directed 6 doctoral theses and more than 250 undergraduate and master's projects. Currently, and for 4 years, he is a professor and leader of the engineering research group at the "Almirante Padilla" Naval School in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
